It is somewhat very innovative and unique to see different colors of  roses blooming in same plant.

How to bloom different colors of rose in same plant?

Plant have that ability of developing into complete new plant from a single cell which is called toti-potency of plant.

chip budding of grafting technique among other method is preferred mostly.

Well before you perform chip budding in rose you need to know the two important terms which is scion and stock.

Scion are the incised buds of your desired color rose which you want to grow whereas stock is the plant where you are going to grow these incised buds.

Scion can be taken from every variety of rose except wild variety of rose which is used as a stock.

Cutting is made from wild variety of rose that can work as stock in future .

You need to take a Cutting of about 9 inch long and pencil sized thick i suggest you take two or three cutting at a time, giving Slanting cut at base and tapering cut at the top.

Cutting should be taken in the month of june/July in summer . Grafting knife is the equipment to be used for taking out cutting.

                                Cutting being taken with scissors
Now, cutting is placed in a huge garden pot filled with mixture of abundant amount of farm yard manure and soil.

After 6,7 month you see new buds sprouting from the cutting giving rise to the new shoots later.

Select 3,4 new shoots and maintain it to the level of 3 inch by scissors for your own convenience.

It is must you perform chip budding within the month of  November and December.

procedure  for  performing this operation are :

  1. Initially, with the help of budding cum grafting knife buds of rose you prefer is taken out from different color of rose plant by making an incision in the shape of chip with wood in little.

(grafting knife for taking out cutting)
  2. Similarly, the bud you want to replace with is also removed from the shoots of stock plant.
  3. Then, you replace the stock buds with those scion buds in such a way that their wood or cambium matches.
  4.  you now tie the union with grafting tape making it airtight.
    (after successful chip budding)
  5. After the operation is finished the whole rose plant is covered well with white poly plastic or placed in poly house.

When will the union starts to yield flower?

Flowering will occur after their cambium matches. Usually it takes  as early as 1 month or 2.

It is necessary you take out or remove plastic and expose plant to sunlight for 3,4 hours in mid day for 2 ,3 month followed by slight watering at intervals. Also, it's must you inspect the plant and remove the suckers.

Transplantation to primary field can be done just after 3 month.
